Get To Know Me

I'm Dr. Cristiana Ciorba. I’ve been practicing physical therapy since 2006, initially inspired by my own journey rehabilitating injuries sustained while playing basketball and volleyball in high school and my life long experience with hypermobility. I am an immigrant, born in Romania, growing up in Portland Metro. I love living in this unique and vibrant city and exploring the broader Pacific Northwest. Outside of the clinic, I am rooted in my family and community, and am active in supporting social justice causes which are deeply meaningful to me. My curiosity and passion for discovery has also taken me to over 30 countries and 35 states – and I still find home one of the most beautiful, wonderful places in the world.

In my practice, I take a holistic, whole-person approach to care. I'm inquisitive and always ready to learn new things and expand my awareness with each new patient I partner with. I focus on identifying and treating drivers of pain and dysfunction to help restore balance and ease. I’m trained in Polyvagal Theory and practice in a trauma-informed way, creating a safe and respectful space for everyone—especially those who may have had challenging experiences in medical spaces in the past.  I am patient. I specialize in working with complex pain and persistent symptoms, autoimmune and post viral conditions, trauma-related somatic pain, scar and radiation-affected tissue, concussions, and mobility spectrum disorders. I also love helping athletes of all abilities move more efficiently and confidently. Most importantly, I believe in partnering with you through empowering education, meaningful collaboration, and a deep respect for your lived experience.
